The Attraction
The entry and exit locations to this attraction are motion-sensor automatic double doors for mobility aid access. This attraction features three zones, The Garage, Build and Test and Race. All zones have plenty of open floor space to allow for mobility aids to navigate freely in and around the interactive sections.
The Garage
The photo opportunity with the life-size Ferrari as you enter the attraction is fully accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Build and Test
The LEGO Build Tables to create your LEGO cars are wheelchair accessible, and guests can park their wheelchairs directly in front of the Build Table. Please be advised guardians or carers may need to assist in facilitating the building process of the LEGO cars on the build table itself, should the wheelchair user need additional support in this section.
The Top Speed Ramp has an accessible ramp located on the left-hand side and wheelchair users are advised to use Lane 1 to race their LEGO cars. Lane 6 is also available for use on the right-hand side of the Top Speed Ramp, and also wheelchair accessible, should you find Lane 1 occupied. It is advised guardians or carers may need to assist in facilitating the placement of LEGO cars at the starting line before racing.
Please note the Jump Ramp is not accessible due to the height and access of the Jump Ramp. It is advised guardians or carers may need to assist in facilitating the placement of the LEGO Cars at the starting line before racing.
On the Engine Ramp, wheelchair users can race their LEGO cars on either side of the ramp and are advised to park their wheelchairs parallel to the ramp to access the starting point on the ramp. Please be advised guardians or carers may need to assist in facilitating any placement of Lego Cars at the starting line before racing.
The DUPLO Ramps are tailored for our younger racers, which are designed at a lower height, and wheelchair accessible from either side of the ramps. The bricks are also bigger for our younger racers to design their car.
Race
The Race Track touchscreens are all wheelchair accessible, and the LEGO cars can be placed directly into the scanning area which is located directly underneath the touchscreens. The interactive touch screens and buttons are also wheelchair accessible and can be operated whilst remaining in the wheelchair.
All Zone Areas
For those with visual impairments, there are also yellow painted strips around each interactive section; build tables, ramps, and racetrack.
For those with additional sensory needs, there is limited audio throughout the facility, however, there is visual stimulation on screens and displays as well as racing noise effects at each interactive area of the attraction. The attraction has spotlights over each interactive area, with low-mid lighting levels throughout the facility.
At the end of the attraction, you can find shelving units to place your LEGO Cars, and the lower shelves are wheelchair accessible. Please be advised guardians or carers may need to assist in the placement of the LEGO Cars on the display shelves if opting for the higher shelves. Once you have displayed your racing car you get a photo opportunity on our very own LEGO podium, which is fully wheelchair accessible.
